About Julia Kogan

Julia Kogan is a Ukrainian-born American-French-British operatic coloratura soprano, writer, and presenter.

Early life

Kogan was born to a Soviet Jewish family in Kharkov, Ukraine in 1971. During childhood, her family came to the United States via the Vienna-Rome Pipeline. They ultimately settled in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, where she was active in high school plays and musicals, including starring in the lead role of Annie. Afterwards, she completed a Bachelor of Music at The Ohio State University and a Master of Music at Butler University in Indiana, before moving to the United Kingdom and France where she launched her opera career.
