Drie dvd's met twaalf afleveringen van de Canadees-Frans-Nieuw-Zeelandse televisieserie The adventures of the Black Stallion, die drie seizoenen heeft gedraaid (1990-1993). Het verhaal is gebaseerd op de boeken van Walter Farley en de eerdere verfilmingen: The Black Stallion (1979) and The Return of the Black Stallion (1983). Het verhaal draait om de tiener Alec Ramsey (Richard Ian Cox) die een speciale band heeft met Black, een wilde zwarte hengst die alleen bereden kan worden door Ramsey. Black is onderhand een wereldberoemd renpaard. Samen met trainer Henry (Mickey Rooney) beleven ze allerlei avonturen. Richard Ian Cox ontving de Young artist award voor Richard Ian Cox als beste jonge acteur in een 'off-primetime series'. Familiefilm die elke paardenliefhebber zal waarderen.

About Mickey Rooney

Mickey Rooney (born Ninnian Joseph Yule Jr.; September 23, 1920 – April 6, 2014) was an American actor, vaudevillian, comedian, radio personality, and producer. In a career spanning nine decades and continuing until shortly before his death, he appeared in more than 300 films and was among the last surviving stars of the silent film era. He was the top box-office attraction from 1939 to 1941, and one of the best-paid actors of that era. He won a Golden Globe Award in 1981 and an Emmy Award in 1982.

At the height of a career marked by declines and comebacks, Rooney performed the role of Andy Hardy in a series of 16 films in the 1930s and 1940s that epitomized American family values.
