Dutch photographer Hellen van Meene is best known for giving the precarious mental and emotional state of adolescents a 'face' in carefully staged portraits. Showing her models between melancholy and a readiness to break out, between self-abandonment and reinvention, Meene's new book contains recent portraits and, for the first time, interiors, still-lifes, and panorama shots.
